Privacy notice
MenuCard QR turns a café, restaurant, pub or bar menu into a QR allergen menu. This page explains, in plain English, what personal data we hold, why, and how to get it deleted.
Who we are
MenuCard is run by Ciprian S, London. For anything privacy-related, email orders@menucardqr.co.uk.
This website and the QR menus
This website and the QR menus use no cookies, no analytics and no tracking scripts. When a guest uses a QR menu, the allergens, diets and ingredients they pick are worked out on their own phone. We don't receive or store those choices. Our web host may keep standard server logs (such as IP address and pages requested) for security and to keep the site running.
What we store, and why
- Businesses that buy from us: your name, email address and business name, and anything you send us by email to build your menu (dishes, prices, ingredients, allergen and cross-contact details). We use this to build, host and update your menu, and to email you about your order.
- Payments: Stripe handles your card details on its secure checkout. We never see your full card number. We keep a record of what you bought and when, for our accounts.
- Emails: if you email us a question, we keep the conversation so we can reply and look back at it later.
Your menu details are published on your QR menu, because that's the point of the service. Please don't send us personal details about your own customers. We don't need them.
Who we share data with
Only the services we need to run MenuCard QR: our web host, our email provider and Stripe for payments. We don't sell personal data, and we don't use it for anything else.
How long we keep it
- Order and payment records: as long as we need them for tax records (normally 6 years for UK records).
- Your menu details: while your QR menu is live, then deleted when it's taken down, unless you ask us to keep them.
- Emails: as long as they're useful for helping you, then deleted.
Your rights
Under UK GDPR you can ask to see, correct or delete your data, object to how we use it, or ask us to limit its use. Email orders@menucardqr.co.uk from the address you used and say what you'd like. We'll reply by email, always within one month. If you're unhappy with how we've handled your data, you can complain to the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO) at ico.org.uk.
Changes
